This list is a guide only aimed at those of you that prefer to service their own caravans
Some of the checks listed are best carried out by a qualified person. If in doubt, seek help.

CHASSIS & RUNNING GEAR
1. Check the Coupling Head; lubricate as necessary
2. Lubricate the overrun piston with grease gun 3 positions
3. Check the handbrake operation and adjust
4. Check the breakaway cable, if it is worn or missing, replace it.
5. Check and lubricate the Jockey Wheel
6. Check and lubricate the corner steadies Do not grease excessively
7. Remove wheels/drum assembly. Remove dust. NB. Beware asbestos Brake shoe condition:-
8. Adjust the brakes. Commence at drum
9. Replace the split pin/'one shot nut'.
10. Torque the nut to manufacturer's data.
11. Refit the wheels and torque nuts/bolts.
12. Check the tyres, remove stones, check pressures. Record condition:-

GAS SYSTEM
13. Carry out Pressure test on system. CORGI Reports:- !
14. Replace washer on regulator
15. Replace flexible hose. Use new hose clips
16. Refrigerator. Light and test for cooling. Examine coils visually.
17. Cooking appliances: Light and verify operation. Soap round valves.
18. Check water heater operation. Include electric immersion
19. Check space heater operation. Soap valves.
20. Report on gas appliances. !

ELECTRICAL
21. Check/Test RCD and MCB operation. !
22. Test 13 amp sockets.
23. Check operation and condition of all lighting.
24. Check all Road lighting. Incl. Fog & Reverse. Reflectors.
25. Check operation of water pump.
26. Certify electrical inspection. Electrician !

BODY WORK & GENERAL CONDITION
27. Check for evidence of body leaks.
28. Damp check: Meter and Visual Affix sketch if applicable.
29. Check/lubricate all door and locker hinges.
30. Comment on general body condition.

FIRE & SMOKE
31. Check the Fire Alarm operation Renew battery
32. Check the fire extinguisher date/gauge/weight.
